Upon receipt of the ID Kits, Katy ISD will deliver the required number of kits to each elementary and junior high campus. If ever needed, the ID Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts in locating a missing child. The ID Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian. The initiative includes providing parents and guardians with an ID kit they can use to protect their children. This is a community service provided by The National Child Identification Program’s initiative dedicated to reducing the number of missing children. Passed in the last legislative session, SB 2158, requires Districts provide all students in grades K through 8 th an inkless child identification fingerprint/DNA kit. More information can be found on the Instructional Resources Information webpage. Parents were solicited to serve on these committees during early October 2022. Each committee will be comprised of four (4) parents, alongside District assigned instructional personnel. ![]() The District is in need of 20 parent volunteers at this time. In alignment with those policies, the District is soliciting parent committee members to be randomly drawn and assigned to five different rotating Reconsideration Committees that will be charged with reading and reviewing challenged materials. Each policy allows individuals to request an informal or formal reconsideration of materials. The approved drafts reflect the policy changes and additions. ![]() These policies will be official following review and approval by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
